CHARACTER CREATION GUIDELINES

These following regulations and guidelines are meant to sustain orderly and fair conduct throughout the entire Hogwarts community. They are particularly instated in high hopes that Hogwarts will flourish as a school rich with a variety of different characters so that that will in turn lead to a variety of different plots, happenings, and circumstances.

Thank You

  • Under NO circumstances will Mary Sue characters be tolerated. Mary Sues are characters that are quite literally perfect in every aspect. They are friends with everyone, make top grades, never do anything wrong, and are stunningly pretty. Since this is impossible in the both real and magical world, it will not be tolerated on this site.

  • Characters with special powers (werewolves, vampires, elementals) are not common in Hogwarts, and therefor will not be common in this community. You must attain SPECIAL PERMISSION from either myself, the headmaster, or a co-admin to play a character with special powers. Be prepared to offer a detailed history of your character and a lengthy roleplay sample. If you submit a character application detailing your character as having special powers before attaining permission, it will be immediately rejected.

  • Remember to play you character true to his or her AGE. If your character is a first year, it is hardly feasable that they would be able to preform the cruciatus curse on a seventh year student. Similarly, second years probably won't be involved in a relationship with their Professor, or be involved in a 'serious' relationship. Though it is possible, please keep in mind the age and maturity level of your character.

  • Lastly, treat others with respect IC and OOC. Just because your character is a Slytherin, it doesn't mean that they have to be terrible to everyone. Likewise, Gryffindors won't always be the heros. Tryand make your character as unstereotypical as possible.
